Getting Greedy in 2018

Still over a month away before the first of our 2 trips this year which will take us due south, crossing the equator to the land of the Springboks.  After the excitement of Australia last year I was all ready to don the backpack for a Round the World adventure but real life prevents that dream just now, so we have to 'make do' with a couple of long haul jaunts to some new and old favourites. Canada and USA to be parked for the Summer, as we need to get near to the cradle of humankind and go on Safari (Biggins style)

Relatively simple trip flight wise, down to Port Elizabeth via Johannesburg, then directly home via Cape Town.

Anyone with any tips about Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, or the Garden Route, share now, or as we wander.  More details of the itinerary a little closer to the time, but this is the get the 2018 travel show on the road.

In particular where can I do any runs to sustain the marathon training, a parkrun in Cape Town and P.E might not cut it!

Running quite a theme of the blog.  When Bryn was a little lad, hard to imagine I know, he used to be quite excited by the myth that Brian Habana could run faster than a cheetah, insistent that his little 5 year old legs could even surpass that.  Whilst he is getting quicker as a sturdy 14 year old he still has some way to go!

A Few Weeks Until Take Off

Hello! Welcome to blog no. 3! And hopefully, the third of many more to come. So, this year, we're embarking on an exciting adventure to a land of animals, food and landscape. South Africa! After last years collection of long, endless flights, I'm happy to just be flying 3 times (with ground travelling in between, of course.) So, we're not setting off  for another few weeks yet, but we thought we'd get started with an introduction draft each. Over 10 days in South Africa, we will be experiencing 2 park runs as well as visiting an incredible safari - I'm hoping to walk with elephants. Fingers crossed! So, I'll see you in the next post!
